MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES

June 5, 2017

ATTENDANCE

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on June 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.

 

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

Chris Shifley moved and Cheryl Moss seconded that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of May 1, 2017 be approved as corrected. Unanimously approved.

 

Sharon Zink moved and Nicki Sullivan seconded that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of April 3, 2017 be approved as corrected. Unanimously approved.

 

CORRESPONDENCE

Block 2 Shoreline Project

Chris Cutro and John Lohrmann are gathering quotes for different repair options and will put together a proposal to present to the WSPC board for future consideration to improve the common area and prevent further erosion of the waterfront north of the block 2 beach.

 

ComEd Poles

It was reported that several of the old utility poles that had been left in place after new utility poles had been installed have been removed and the loose wires are being removed and/or attached as necessary.

 

A homeowner has requested a copy of the insurance policy that WSPC holds which currently covers the landscaping company that maintains the common areas in Block 2. A copy of the policy will be provided to the homeowner as requested.

 

Dan Prezell and Margaret Resnick provided information from the Mundelein Park District regarding the Diamond Lake weed treatment scheduled for June 8. The information will be sent in an email to all residents on the WSPC email list and posted to the WSPC website.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 05/01/2017 – 05/31/2017. Nicki Sullivan moved and Cheryl Moss seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.

 

GRANT UPDATE

Fred Aichele reported that he is waiting to receive the money from the Lake County Community Development Grant Administration. He is awaiting a distribution plan of the funds for the homeowners who have received approval for grant funds. Homeowners who have been approved will be contacted with further information and instruction on how the funds will be applied to present and future dues or as a reimbursement of past association dues.

UPDATE OF WSP HOMEOWNER DIRECTORY

The WSP Homeowner Directory is being updated! Board members are in the process of contacting members to verify information. Please submit any changes to your telephone number or name to Fred Aichele via email at [email protected] .

 

GROVE PROJECT

Nicki Sullivan reported that according to Fremont Township Highway Commissioner, Bill Grinnell, the Block 1 Beach Road and Circle Drive/Grove Terrace Drainage Project began June 6th and is expected to last approximately two weeks.

 

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS

Sharon Zink reported that she is waiting on an additional written repair estimate for the pillar that was damaged when it was hit by a car.

 

BEACH

Block 1 Beach clean-up has not yet been set and will be announced when scheduled.

 

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped get Block 2 Beach ready for the summer!

 

WATER

Water Commissioner, Brett Laureys has submitted a tentative schedule for the water tank replacement project:

 

Submittal / Milestone Dates:

April 10, 2017 – Submit Site Plan to Lake County Planning and Building

May 15, 2017 – Submit Plans & Specifications to IEPA for Permitting

June 26, 2017 – Advertise for Construction Bids

July 10, 2017 – Receive and Open Construction Bids

July 17, 2017 – Award Construction Bid

 

Anticipated Construction Schedule:

Tank Shop Drawings: 4 weeks – July 24th through August 18th

Tank Fabrication:  6 weeks – August 21th through September 29th

Tank Delivery & Erection: 3 weeks – October 2nd through October 20th

System Start-Up:  1 week – October 23rd through October 27th

Nicki Sullivan moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Cheryl Moss. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
