MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 7:06 PM at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, Dan Prezell.

 

PRESENTATION BY COUNTRYSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

Lieutenant Ron Cielek and Public Education Coordinator for Countryside Fire Protection District, Tony Rodkey spoke to the board about the importance of the five-digit numbering system. A reminder was made that the five-digit number should be displayed on the house and the mailbox in contrasting colored numbers.

It was recommended that residents contact William Grinell, Fremont Township Highway Commissioner, to report any area that needs bushes trimmed away from the roads and street or road signs.  William Grinnell contact information: 847-223-2848 Email: Fremonthwy@tds.net

There was a discussion on the possibility of a 20-foot road versus an 18-foot road replacement for “new” Forest Lane. The issue is also being discussed between the homeowners on “new” Forest Lane and the Fremont Township Highway Department.

Lt. Cielek and Mr. Rodkey also stressed the importance of residents understanding the law as it applies to open burning in WSP.

It was stressed that burning of rubbish, garbage, and construction debris is prohibited. Burning of grass clippings and tree trunks is prohibited except for recreational fires. Burning of other landscape waste on the same property where it was generated is permitted under the following conditions: (1) conducted between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM or sunset, whichever is earlier, Monday thru Friday or between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM or sunset, whichever is earlier, on Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays; (2) completely extinguished with no smoke by 8:00 PM or sunset, whichever is earlier; and (3) no closer than 50 feet from a school property line or road centerline and no closer than 25 feet from any building or side property line.

CORRESPONDENCE

Dan Prezell presented documents regarding a home in foreclosure. There was a review of the documents.

Dan Prezell presented an email from a real estate agent requesting the rules and regulations regarding installing a fence and Mr. Prezell’s response to the email.

 

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

James Melledy moved and Wayne Zumstein seconded that the minutes from the Regularly Monthly Board of Directors Meeting of July 1, 2013 be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved by Directors: Dan Prezell, James Melledy, Wayne Zumstein

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 6/28/13 – 7/31/13. James Melledy moved and Wayne Zumstein seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved. A copy is available for download.

There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts.

There was a review and discussion of association dues collected and of those not yet collected.

There was a discussion on the procedure for collection of unpaid association dues.

 

WSP PHONE BOOK UPDATE

Board members discussed the current status and challenges of collecting and updating phone numbers for the revision of the WSP Homeowners’ Association Phonebook.

Please send updated information to fredterri@sbcglobal.net if you are new to the neighborhood, or if your phone number or information has changed.

Only WSP property owners will be listed in the revised phone book. Renters will not be listed.

 

WSP PICNIC RE-CAP

The WSP Picnic was a wonderful success and has generated many good comments from residents. Expenses have been reviewed and it has been reported that the picnic came in under budget.

 

OKTOBERFEST UPDATE

The WSP Annual Oktoberfest is scheduled for

Saturday, September 21st from 4pm – 9pm in Miller Park.

MOSQUITO

Three more treatments have been scheduled for the end of summer / fall. One treatment has been scheduled directly prior to Oktoberfest.

TREES

A tree in Block 2 common area needs to be addressed. James Melledy suggested that the budget for tree removal / maintenance be reviewed and increased for the 2013/2014 fiscal year.


ADJOURN

James Melledy moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Wayne Zumstein and unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 9:01 pm.
