2016 Annual Meeting Letter

Dear Homeowner:

The West Shore Park Corporation Annual Meeting will be held on February 21, 2016. This year three board positions are up for renewal. The Board received one nomination from Block 1 and two from Block 2. Nominations will not be accepted at the annual meeting and write-in candidates will not be counted.

If you are unable to attend the annual meeting, we encourage you to complete the attached proxy form. The purpose of the proxy is to allow West Shore Park Corporation to attain a quorum and to elect new Board members. If you submit your proxy form and decide to attend the meeting, your proxy will be voided and you will be allowed to vote in person at the meeting.

Also attached is the final draft of the budget for fiscal year 04/01/16 – 03/31/17. This budget was accepted by the Board at the January 4, 2016 Board meeting for presentation to the West Shore Park Corporation membership.

Several events have occurred which are causing a significant increase in the upcoming dues. In February/March 2015, WSPC incurred unplanned expenses of $31,381 for urgent deep well repairs and $7,017 to fix a leaking generator. This wiped out the expected carry over into fiscal year 2015 of $23,000 and required transfers from the water emergency fund. In November, the estimate to replace the water tank increased from $275,000 to $350,000. The tank fund is currently at $152,766. The tank replacement will be postponed from 2016 to 2017 but WSPC will need an additional $75,000 for each of the next two years.
