MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
July 10, 2017

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order on July 10, 2017 at 7:01 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.
MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Sharon Zink moved and Cheryl Moss seconded that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of June 5, 2017 be approved as presented. Unanimously approved.
CORRESPONDENCE
James Melledy reported that he has received a complaint from a homeowner regarding a squeaking noise that appears to be coming from a pier. The owner of the pier has been contacted and has assured the board that the noise has been eliminated.
There was a discussion regarding a damaged buffalo box and the associated repair cost.
Fremont Township will be contacted to discuss plans for replacing WSP roads and coordinating the replacement of aging waterlines with road work.
A homeowner has contacted the board regarding the required installation of a fence along with the installation of a swimming pool. The request will be followed up on by a board member to confirm.
A prospective buyer requested permission/permits to install a fence. The homeowner was contacted by a board member to discuss the “no fence” covenant.
Block 2 Shoreline Project
Chris Cutro and John Lohrmann are gathering quotes for different repair options and will put together a proposal to present to the WSPC board for future consideration to improve the common area and prevent further erosion of the waterfront north of the block 2 beach.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 06/01/2017 – 06/30/2017. Cheryl Moss moved and Chris Shifley seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.
There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts.
UPDATE OF WSP HOMEOWNER DIRECTORY
The WSP Homeowner Directory is being updated! There was a review of members with missing or unconfirmed information. Board members will be contacting members who have incomplete or unconfirmed information. Please submit any changes to your telephone number or name to Fred Aichele via email at [email protected] .
TAYLOR LAKE COURT
It has been reported that a new homeowner has taken possession of property on Taylor Lake Court that is adjacent to property owned by WSPC. The new owner appears to have installed a pier off of WSPC property. A board member will verify this information and contact the new owner and provide the land lease agreement which would allow the new owner limited use of the WSPC property. A survey and marking of the property may be required for clarification for WSPC and the new owner on where the property lines are drawn.
GROVE PROJECT
Nicki Sullivan reported that there are no new drainage concerns following the heavy July rain events now that the Block 1 Beach Road and Circle Drive/Grove Terrace Drainage Project have been completed. The beach path lane has been completed including extending the lane north to the end of the beach. The landscaping has been completed except for tree and bush trimming along the beach path which will be completed soon. The road block for the path has been reinstalled.
COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS
BLOCK 1 BEACH
New sand has been tentatively scheduled to be installed the week of 7/10 – 7/15. The old sand will be removed and new sand will be installed. Rain may delay the project.
It was reported that a large tree collapsed onto the Block 1 Beach. The tree/debris was removed. Additional trees on WSPC property have been identified as possible problems if they were to fall onto private property.
An additional anchor has been installed for a buoy for Block 1 Beach swim area.
REMINDER: Dogs are NOT allowed on the beaches. Leashed dogs may be on the PARK adjacent to the Block 1 Beach beach-area. Please keep dogs off the sand and out of the swimming areas and always clean up after your pet!
WATER
The 2016 Annual Water Quality Report has been issued. WSP had no violations. An email copy was sent to all members who are on the WSP email distribution list, paper copies were hand delivered to members not on the email distribution list. MILLER PARK
REMINDER: Please make sure that the Miller Park gate lock is replaced after removal to open the gate!
Areas to be landscaped and the area to be mowed at Miller Park will be better communicated to the landscaping company.
ADJOURN
Nicki Sullivan moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Sharon Zink. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 9:27 p.m.
