MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on March 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President Mike Davenport.

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

Chris Shifley moved that the minutes from the Regular Board of Directors Meeting of February 7, 2022 be approved as corrected. The motion was seconded by Minaxi Tailor. Unanimously approved.

HOMEOWNER FORUM

Tracy Cornish addressed the board expressing trespassing and littering concerns. On multiple occasions she has found trash in her yard, including drug paraphernalia. The WSPC Board reminds residents not to “cut through” personal property unless you have the express permission of the home owner. “Cutting through” property to get to streets, parks, the lake, etc. without permission is considered trespassing. The board requests that parents please remind their kids not to “cut through” yards and not to litter. Homeowners have the right to report trespassing and littering to the Lake County Sherriff’s Department.

CORRESPONDENCE

Mike Davenport reported that a response was received and a conversation was had with a resident who had been contacted regarding a fence-type structure on the homeowner’s property. The homeowner will be removing the fence-type structure. There was a review and discussion regarding the homeowners who have received letters addressing fence-type structures on their property. Additional letters may be sent with personal follow-up from the board.

There was a report that the old fire-pit in Miller Park is currently in a state of disrepair. The dismantling and removal of the old fire-pit will be coordinated with the Miller Park Commissioner.

Fred Aichele reported that the application for the IL EPA water permit required additional information to be completed so the permit could be issued. Additional information provided as necessary.

It was reported that Nicki Sullivan has successfully lobbied for legislation in Springfield so that homeowners may now file a modification request with the Lake County Recorder of Deeds Office to remove racist language and a restrictive covenant from their property deed for a home in West Shore Park. Please contact the Lake County recorder of Deeds if you would like to apply for a modification to your property deed.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 2/01/2022 – 2/28/2022. Larry Bakirtjy moved and Werner Brisske seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.

REVIEW OF TASKS LIST

Annual Billing Notice will go out end of March / early April.

NEW BUISNESS

Tracey Cornish questioned what happens if someone is hurt on WSPC property and what kind of protections does WSPC have in place regarding liability? There was a discussion of a variety of situations and what is covered by WSPC insurance and what would be a private homeowner’s responsibility. Mike Davenport will have a discussion with our lawyer for clarification.

Rose Brisske inquired if there are job descriptions and expectations in writing for the Directors, Officers, and Commissioners? There is a loose out-line available in the Rules and Regulations, but there is no official document available that details the descriptions and expectations of each position. Werner Brisske suggested a brief write-up from current Directors, Officers, and Commissions on what they believe their position entails and a review and discussion follow-up.

ADJOURN

Minaxi Tailor moved that the meeting be adjourned. Chris Shifley seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:11 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Marilee C.C. Rusiniak, Secretary
