MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order on October 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.
MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Nicki Sullivan moved and Chris Shifley seconded that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of September 12, 2016 be approved as corrected. Unanimously approved.
DIAMOND LAKE GRANT PRESENTATION
Tori Trauscht presented the 2017 Diamond Lake Preservation Strategy – To Build Support and Prevent Lake Pollution grant outline. Ms. Trauscht is working in partnership with various agencies in Mundelein, including the Diamond Lake Preservation Alliance, Mundelein Park District, Village of Mundelein, Fremont Township and Oak Terrace and other Diamond Lake sub-watershed stakeholders to secure a grant. It was requested that the WPSC dedicate $2,000 worth of labor, supplies, or project value in 2017 to meet the grant requirement to support water quality and shoreline preservation of Diamond Lake. WSPC has been asked to dedicate volunteer hours or an equivalent of the cash value in labor, supplies and project value aimed towards improving the quality and preservation towards Diamond Lake. Projects towards the support of the grant may include seawall repair and replacement, drainage and flood control projects and the installation of rain gardens and native plants. There was a discussion of what services and projects may be considered. Ms. Trauscht will send the WSPC more information for review on how to commit to the grant request.
PERSONAL PROPERTY ON WEST SHORE PARK COMMUNITY PROPERTY
Nicki Sullivan presented a draft of a letter to be sent to residents regarding the maintenance and mowing of community property. The removal of personal property from the community property (including fire pits) is addressed. There was a discussion of projected landscape expenses and possible options for service providers.
Mr. Lohrmann requested a time-frame for when the fall clean-up of community property will occur.
Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 09/01/2016 – 09/30/2016. Cheryl Moss moved and Nicki Sullivan seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.
There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts.
Fred Aichele attended an informational meeting regarding service offered by an accounting firm that does monthly billing of annual dues on behalf of Homeowner’s Associations. He has requested more detailed information for review.
