MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order on November 14, 2016 at 7:01 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.
MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Cheryl Moss moved and Gina Rundall seconded that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of October 3, 2016 be approved as corrected. Unanimously approved.
HOMEOWNER FORUM
John Lohrmann and Chris Cutro spoke with the board regarding the common property adjacent to Diamond Lake behind homes off of Forest Lane. Assistance in exploring options for repairing and improving the seawall was requested. Possible options include rip-rap, sand and gravel, and native plants. Landscaping, labor, and material quotes are being solicited. Suggestions of people and companies who may be able to assist were made. Firm bids and plans will be presented to the board at a later date for consideration.
Several fire-pits have been removed from WSP common property. General landscaping of these areas has been completed.
CORRESPONDENCE
An email was received from a WSP member. The member requested that the common property adjacent to his property line be mowed evenly and fully to cover all WSP common property in the area addressed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 10/01/2016 – 10/31/2016. Gina Rundall moved and Chris Shifley seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.
There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts.
2017 BUDJET PROPOSAL
Budget requests must be submitted by all commissioners for discussion and review to be considered for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
Homeowners are reminded that budget planning for the 2017-2018 fiscal year is underway. Homeowners are encouraged to attend monthly board meetings to have their concerns and requests regarding the budget addressed during the planning stage. The most important meetings regarding how WSPC spends funds collected from the homeowners are from October through January.
Fred Aichele presented the first draft of the proposed 2017-2018 budget for review and discussion.
Budget requests reviewed and discussed included those from Commissioners Brett Laureys and Dan Prezell.
NEW BUSINESS
James Melledy reported that an email detailing how residents can apply for a refund to help offset WSPC annual dues, which will help with the cost associated with the installation of the new water tank, will be sent to all residents by the end of November. A FAQ detailing the program and an application will be sent out via email and will be available at www.westshorepark,com . The program is not available to all WSPC members. Only some households, meeting certain income guidelines, are eligible.
It was reported that the memorial plaque honoring the late Bob Costa was stolen from the Block 2 Beach. Please contact a board member with any information related to the missing plaque.
It was reported that stop signs are missing or are in locations which make it difficult for drivers to see the sign or be certain where to stop at the intersection. Fremont Township Highway Commissioner, Bill Grinell, will be contacted to replace the missing signs and move signs as needed.
The Miller Park gate is broken and will be repaired.
Bids are being solicited for the repair of the damaged pillar on the north end of the WSP entrance.
Gina Rundall will not be seeking another term as a West Shore Park Director. If you are interested in volunteering for your community by serving on the West Shore Park Corporation Board, please fill out and submit a self-nomination form available for download from the West Shore Park website, or contact any West Shore Park board member for a copy of the 2017 West Shore Park Board of Directors Self Nomination to be a Candidate for the Board of Directors. This is a two-year term. Elections for the board member positions are on February 19, 2017 at the Annual Members Meeting.

Cheryl Moss moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Gina Rundall. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 9:11 p.m.
