REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES -draft

January 8, 2024

ATTENDANCE

Directors: Werner Brisske, Mike Davenport, Chris Shifley, Minaxi Tailor

Treasurer: Fred Aichele

Secretary: Marilee C.C. Rusiniak

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on January 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President Mike Davenport.

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

Werner Brisske moved that the minutes from the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors on December 4, 2023 be approved as corrected. Minaxi Tailor seconded the motion. Unanimously approved.

CORRESPONDANCE

A message was received from a member requesting permission to hold a wedding at one of the WSPC parks. Approved. Member will be notified.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Mike Davenport reported that preliminary meetings and conversations for the future seawall project continue.

Mike Davenport reported that various items left on park space along the channel have been removed.

NEW BUSINESS

The 2024 Annual Member’s Meeting packet will be sent to members via email, mailed to members not on the email list, and made available on the website at: https://westshorepark.com/

The terms of WSPC directors Werner Brisske and Chris Shifley will expire in February of 2024. Mr. Brisske has chosen not to run for re-election. Mr. Shifley is interested in continuing to serve on the WSPC Board. Member Ben Arditti has expressed an interest in running for the WSPC Board of Directors. Mr. Shifley and Mr. Arditti have both submitted nomination forms. No additional WSPC Director Nomination forms were received before the deadline to submit nomination forms closed on December 31, 2023. Thank you, Werner, for your service to our community.

The street of Woodbine (off of Fairview Drive) will be added to the roads that WSPC plows. Note: The beach and park roads are not plowed or maintained by Fremont Township as they are the responsibility of WSPC. Most of the roads in WSP are plowed and maintained by Fremont Township.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented theTreasurer’s Report for 12/01/2023 – 12/31/2023. Werner Brisske moved and Minaxi Tailor seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.

BUDGET DISCUSSION

Fred Aichele presented the third draft of the 2024-2025 proposed budget for review and discussion.

Commissioners and members are encouraged to attend monthly board meetings to have their concerns and requests regarding the budget addressed during the planning stage. The most important meetings regarding how WSPC spends funds collected from the homeowners are from October through January.

Minaxi Tailor moved Chris Shifley seconded to finalize the draft of the Proposed Budget Fiscal Year 4/01/2024 – 3/31/2025 for presentation at the annual meeting on February 18, 2024.

Motion carried unanimously approved by Directors: Werner Brisske, Mike Davenport, Chris Shifley, and Minaxi Tailor.

REVIEW OF TASKS LIST

Review and discussion of the Board and Officers Task List.

ADJOURN

Werner Brisske moved that the meeting be adjourned. Minaxi Tailor seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:28 p.m.

Meetings will be held via Zoom in the event that Covid-19 Mitigation Measures are put into place and meeting rooms may not host gatherings. Dates and time and location are subject to change. All homeowners are encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings. Please contact any member of the board or check the website for updated information regarding meeting location.
