MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order on March 4, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.
MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Nicki Sullivan moved that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of February 4, 2019 be approved as corrected. The motion was seconded by Chris Shifley. Unanimously approved.
HOMEOWNER FORUM – PUBLIC COMMENT
Rose Brisske requested clarification on who runs the WSP Facebook Group. Director Nicki Sullivan confirmed that she is the primary administrator of the group and has added Secretary Marilee C.C. Rusiniak as an additional administrator. Nicki took over administration of the group from former WSPC President Susan Frank who created the group. Mrs. Brisske commented that she would like to assist with the creation and administration of an additional WSPC Facebook Group or Page. The need for an additional WSPC Facebook Page or Group will be considered.
Rose Brisske commented that according to a conversation between Werner Brisske and Fremont Township Parks, Building, Grounds & Highway Operations Manager, Herb Riedel, the two sections of Forest Lane will be connected in 2020 or 2021. This statement has not been confirmed by Herb Riedel.
A. TAYLOR LAKE COURT – LICENSE AGREEMENT
James Melledy reported that there is no new information to report regarding the Licensing Agreement.
B. FAIRVIEW DRIVE PARKING ISSUES
Carol O’Donnell expressed her concern (also raised at the February 17, 2019 Annual Members’ Meeting) regarding the numerous parking problems on Fairview Drive. The matter was discussed at length with the observation that Fremont Township and the Lake County Sherriff’s Office has been contacted multiple times regarding the problems, with no current resolution. Some items discussed included the possibility of installing “No Street Parking” signs on sections of Fairview Drive or WSPC issuing “Homeowner Only” parking permits. Fred Aichele recommended including the Fremont Township, Lake County Sherriff, and/or Countryside Fire to be invited to a regular board meeting to discuss the issue in an effort to gain insight and recommendations on how to manage the parking issue. Nicki Sullivan and James Melledy will follow up on the matter. It was also discussed that a residence appears to have been subdivided into multiple units. The Lake County Building and Engineering division should be contacted regarding code enforcement and property complaints.
Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 02/01/2019 – 02/28/2019. Nicki Sullivan moved and Ernie Billitier seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.
The WSPC Board and Officers would like to welcome our new Director, Mike Davenport.
Nicki Sullivan stated that Rose Brisske will have to announce at the beginning of each board meeting, to all people in attendance, that she is video recording the board meeting. This is to be compliant with Illinois Recording Law.
Fred Aichele requested to be able to send the WSPC homeowner contact information to Fremont Township Supervisor, Diana O’Kelly. The request was approved.
There was a review, discussion, and updating of the WSPC email distribution list.
Nicki Sullivan announced that the 2nd Monday of June/October is the new scheduled brush pick-up by Fremont Township. June 10th is the next scheduled pick-up day. Brush pick-up is no longer available by demand but will still be done following any extreme weather event that resulted in tree limbs or brush damaged by the weather.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCMENT: The 2019/2020 WSPC Annual Homeowners’ Dues Billing will be sent out at the beginning of April. Partial payments will no longer be accepted. Payment can be made by check, or paid by credit card through the WSP website. www.westshorepark.com Additional information will soon be available via email and on the website.
Ernie Billitier announced that he and his family will be moving from West Shore Park at the end of March and will no longer be a homeowner and cannot serve on the board. One WSP homeowner has expressed interest in filling the remainder of Ernie’s term. Please contact any member of the board if you are interested in serving as a Director on the WSPC Board.
The WSPC Board and Officers would like to thank Ernie Billitier for his service to our community. We will miss having you and your family as part of the neighborhood and wish you the best in your new home!
Mike Davenport will head the cross-connection survey/compliance project.
Nicki Sullivan moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Chris Shifley. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
