REGULAR BOARD MEETING MINUTES

July 10, 2023

ATTENDANCE

Directors: Werner Brisske, Mike Davenport, Minaxi Tailor, Chris Shifley (7:39 p.m.)

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on July 10, 2023 at 7:01 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President Mike Davenport.

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

Werner Brisske moved that the minutes from the Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors on June 5, 2023 be approved as corrected. Mike Davenport seconded the motion. Unanimously approved.

HOMEOWNER FORUM – PUBLIC COMMENT

Jeff Sirt asked if WSPC annual membership dues are mandatory. Answer: Yes – dues are mandatory. Non-payment may result in fees being added and the possibility of eviction as a final measure as the result of non-payment or partial payment. (Any difficulty in paying the membership fee in full should be discussed with the WSPC Treasurer and Board prior to the due date.)

Jeff Sirt asked if there were plans to dredge the channel at all. Answer: The channel is the responsibility of the Mundelein Park District and the concern should be reported to Ron Salski. The channel sea walls are the responsibility of the homeowners along the channel.

CORRESPONDENCE

An email was received from a member to request barring another member access to WSPC beaches and parks following an incident that involved police action. It was confirmed that members cannot be barred from using WSPC property per the WSPC By-Laws and that the incident is being handled by the proper authorities.

REVIEW OF DRAFT OF ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES

There was a review of the first draft of the 2023 annual meeting minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented theTreasurer’s Report for 06/01/2023 – 6/30/2023. Werner Brisske moved and Minaxi Tailor seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.

Fred Aichele reported that the cost of the automatic pump transfer switch emergency repair may be covered under insurance and he will submit a claim for review and the possible reimbursement of some of the funds spent on the repair.

REVIEW OF TASKS LIST

Review and discussion of the Board and Officers Task List.

NEW BUSINESS

There was a report of a home that may have trees that may be encroaching into the road right of way. Board members will inspect the trees to determine if any action is necessary.

Werner Brisske reported that he received a report of a tree in block 2 that fell. Board members will inspect the tree to determine if the tree is WSPC responsibility and if any action is necessary.

A report was received of what appeared to be “black sludge” along a section of seawall in block 2. The reported area is managed by Mundelein Park District and they will be informed of the issue.

OLD BUSINESS

Fremont Township Highway Commissioner Alicia Dodd reported that the location finding project for buffalo boxes (BB) in WSP is underway. The GIS (Geographical Information System) map will be made available to the WSPC board as items are added or updated. Anomalies have been noted. There will be a future discussion regarding testing, possibly raising buried BBs above street level, and the possible disconnection of unused BBs.

ADJOURN

Minaxi Tailor moved that the meeting be adjourned. Werner Brisske seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

  • August 10, 2023 – Taco Truck Thursday in Miller Park – 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. BYO beverage if you don’t want what is available for purchase. Residents are encouraged to bring folding chairs, camping chairs, or picnic seating. Event will repeat every other Thursday as weather allows.
  • September 11, 2023 – Regularly Scheduled Monthly Board Meeting
  • October 2, 2023 – Regularly Scheduled Monthly Board Meeting
  • November 6, 2023 – Regularly Scheduled Monthly Board Meeting
  • December 4, 2023 – Regularly Scheduled Monthly Board Meeting

All monthly meetings are held at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, IL 60060 at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Meetings will be held via Zoom in the event that Covid-19 Mitigation Measures are put into place and meeting rooms may not host gatherings. Dates and time and location are subject to change. All homeowners are encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings. Please contact any member of the board or check the website for updated information regarding meeting location.
