REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
October 1, 2018
ATTENDANCE

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order on October 1, 2018 at 7:06 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President, James Melledy.
MINUTES FOR APPROVAL
Sharon Zink moved that the minutes from the Board of Directors Meeting of September 10, 2018, be approved as corrected. The motion was seconded by Nicki Sullivan. Unanimously approved.
CORRESPONDENCE
A. FOREST WATER MAIN BREAK DAMAGE
Quotes have been received and are being reviewed for the repair of the driveway damaged due to the Forest Lane water main break.
B. TAYLOR LAKE COURT – LICENSE AGREEMENT
There has been no personal contact with Taylor Lake Court homeowner who has not responded to the mailings regarding the License Agreement. The board will attempt one last final personal visit before legal action is taken.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 09/01/2018 – 09/30/2018. Nicki Sullivan moved and Chris Shifley seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.
There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts. Directors will personally contact delinquent account holders one final time before delinquents are referred for legal action due to non-payment. James Melledy reported that he is consulting with a lawyer regarding collection action for unpaid 2018 / 2019 dues.
Commissioners should submit their initial budget request for the 2019/2020 operating season to the board of directors. Initial budget requests should be submitted, to be reviewed, at the November 5, 2018 regular board meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
James Melledy reported he has requested clarification from our insurance representative regarding liability for several items. He has also requested information the availability and cost of additional riders and coverage.
James Melledy reported that he is continuing to solicit and follow-up on bids for the Block 1 Beach seawall welding repair before giving final approval for the repairs.
James Melledy reported that he is still working on gathering quotes for the repair, removal, and relocation of pavers at the Block 2 Beach.
NEW BUSINESS
NOW is the optimal time for members to make their budget questions, concerns, and requests heard! Members are encouraged to attend monthly board meetings where the new budget will be discussed. Members may also submit questions, concerns, requests and comments via email to any member of the Board of Directors.
James Melledy reported that he has spoken with Fremont Township to request the repair/paving of several sections of WSP roads.
Nicki Sullivan announced that the next Diamond Lake Preservation Allowance meeting will be held on October 16. Please see http://diamondlakeil.com/ for more information.
Fred Aichele reported that the 2019 Self-Nomination Form to be a Candidate for Board of Directors has been updated and will be hand distributed to the residents, posted on the website and sent to the membership via email. If you are interested in serving on the WSPC Board of Directors, please contact any one of the current directors and complete and submit a 2019 Self-Nomination Form to any of the current directors.
It was reported that the decision to cancel Oktoberfest was made in response to concerns raised by a member of having a fire pit on WSP common property.
There was a discussion regarding the need to update website security.
James Melledy reported that the Block 2 Beach storage shed has been damaged and will be replaced.
Nicki Sullivan reported that she has requested an arborist to inspect several trees on WSP common property for a recommendation on trimming and/or removal.
Nicki Sullivan reported that she will follow up on the installation of a security light for the well house and well.
Nicki Sullivan announced that she is stepping down from the Events Coordinator position. Thank you, Nicki, for all your hard work as Events Coordinator! If you are interested in volunteering for the Events Coordinator position, please contact any one of the WSPC Directors.
WATER
There was a discussion regarding the cross-connection ordinance. Nicki Sullivan will forward some documentation to the board members for review and later discussion.
ADJOURN
Sharon Zink moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Nicki Sullivan. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:41 p.m.
