REGULAR MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES — draft

April 5, 2021

ATTENDANCE

Directors: Werner Brisske, Mike Davenport, John Lohrmann, Chris Shifley (7:42 p.m.)

Treasurer: Fred Aichele

Commissioners: Stacee Kalmanovsky (7:29 p.m.)

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order on April 5, 2021 at 7:06 p.m. at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Road, Mundelein, Illinois 60060 by President Mike Davenport.

MINUTES FOR APPROVAL

John Lohrmann moved that the minutes from the Regular Board of Directors Meeting of March 1, 2021 be approved as corrected. The motion was seconded by Werner Brisske. Unanimously approved.

CORRESPONDENCE

Mike Davenport reported he received a letter from a new resident requesting general information regarding WSP. The information will be forwarded to the Public Relations / Welcome Team for follow-up.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

Fred Aichele presented the Treasurer’s Report for 03/01/2021 – 03/31/2021. Werner Brisske moved and John Lohrmann seconded that the Treasurer’s Report be approved as submitted. Unanimously approved.

Fred Aichele reported that the ComEd bill was higher than expected due to the necessity of the main well pump having to be run during peak usage time instead of during off peak energy use hours.

There was a review and discussion of delinquent accounts.

Treasurer Fred Aichele presented Analysis: Actual vs Expected Receipts fiscal year 4/1/20 – 3/31/21 for review and discussion.

The 2021/2022 WSPC Annual Homeowners’ Dues Billing was sent out at the beginning of April. Partial payments will no longer be accepted. Payment can be made by check, or paid by credit card through the WSP website: www.westshorepark.com

 

Fred Aichele reported he is currently waiting for confirmation the WSPC Tax Return has been received and processed.

There was a discussion regarding the status regarding a legal fee.

 

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS

Miller Park

Commissioner Stacee Kalmanovsky provided an update on the Miller Park Improvement Project. Completed tasks include:

  • Installing/fixing swings

  • Installing “stumpery” play area. Thank you to Fremont Township Highway Commissioner Alicia Dodd for delivering the stumps to Miller Park at no cost.

  • Rain garden area established

  • Sign repaired and replaced

  • Diamond Lake informational sign installed

  • Landscape lumber and woodchips installed in play areas

  • Sandbox installed

  • Removal of ailing trees and planting of beneficial trees

  • New landscaping and plants added

The possible addition of a basketball hoop was presented. Concerns surrounding the installation of a basketball hoop were expressed and discussed. Questions and concerns from the WSPC Membership regarding the installation of a basketball hoop in Miller Park may be emailed to any member of the board for discussion during the May Regular Board meeting. Opinions may be presented to the board in person during the May board meeting where the WSPC Board will discuss this matter and vote on whether or not to install the basketball hoop at Miller Park. Please follow the safety guidelines set in place by the Countryside Fire Station if you plan to attend the meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

Review and discussion of the Board and Officers Task List.

President Mike Davenport will act as liaison to David Frost to communicate additional WSPC plowing requests.

ADJOURN

John Lohrmann moved that the meeting be adjourned. Werner Brisske seconded the motion. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:13 p.m.

The board met in Executive Session following the adjournment of the regular meeting.

Anyone interested in serving as a Director for the WSPC Board should contact any Director, the Secretary, or the Treasurer to be considered for the position. The term will begin immediately and continue into February 2023.

All monthly meetings are held at Countryside Fire Station #1, 801 S. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, IL 60060 at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Meetings will be held via Zoom in the event that Tier 3 Covid-19 Mitigation Measures are put into place and meeting rooms may not host gatherings. Dates and time and location are subject to change. All homeowners are encouraged to attend the monthly board meetings. Please contact any member of the board or check the website for updated information regarding meeting location.
